Cleaning leather boots
- First things first, clean all the mud, grass and other bits and pieces off your boots with a soft brush or damp cloth (be careful not to saturate the leather).
- Leave your boots to air dry naturally. Drying your boots with a hairdryer, placing them near a heater or in direct sun can cause the leather to shrink.
- Apply Boot Wax with a clean, dry cloth in a circular motion and wipe away any excess
Leather Wax Protector
Treating your boots to a good polish up before the first wear and regularly after that will improve the water repellance, provide all weather protection to non-waterproof leather and increase the longevity of your Rossi’s.
Full grain leather boots love our Boot Wax made from a custom made blend of natural beeswax, tanner’s neat foot oil and metal stearate for the protection of your boots (it’s also silicone free!).
Cleaning Suede Boots
- Grab yourself a soft bristle or crepe rubber suede brush from a reputable shoe shop or boot repairer near you and scrub off any dirt and scuff marks.
- Dampen the brush a little and gently clean the problem areas, add a little suede cleaner if necessary.
- Remove excess moisture with a clean cloth and leave to air dry
- Once dry, give your suede boots some extra TLC with a coat of Suede & Nubuck Protector
Cleaning Nubuck Boots
- Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe away excess dirt and scuff marks. Remember to treat your nubuck boots with a little extra care (they’re a bit delicate)
- Gently remove scuff marks with a crepe rubber brush if necessary.
- Using a soft Nubuck Brush, lighlty clean the boots in a circular motion. Be careful not to spend too much time on one area.
- If you’re using a new leather product for the first time, always follow the instructions. We recommend testing on a small section of the boot, maybe at the heel of the boot.
- Remove excess moisture with a clean, dry cloth and leave to air dry
- Once dry, give your Nubuck boots some extra TLC with a coat of Suede & Nubuck Protector. Remember to hold the bottle 25cm away from the boot as you spray.
Suede & Nubuck Protector
Suede and Nubuck finishes love our Rossi Boot Protector which offers water and oil repellent properties. Apply before first use and regularly after that to keep your boots protected and looking great.
While it’s always a great idea to treat any boot, we especially recommend protecting boots with lighter suede and nubuck finishes to keep them looking super smart.
